Scribes of the Cairo Geniza
Wednesday, April 10, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm
At the April session of the Scribes of the Cairo Geniza project (https://www.zooniverse.org/projects/judaicadh/scribes-of-the-cairo-geniza) join volunteers to sort or transcribe Hebrew and Arabic fragments of the 10th through 13th centuries -- even if you don't know Hebrew or Arabic. The number of project volunteers participating online is now approaching 4,200!
You’re invited to the Vitale Media Lab in the Kislak Center (6th floor, Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center) on Wednesday, April 10, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, for help getting started and for good company while working on the project. First-timers welcome at every meeting. Come for any part of the hour. Bring your lunch, bring a laptop (laptops are available to check out on the Ground Floor, by the Tech Center), and give it a try.
