Normal School-Year Hours:
Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 6:00pm (Doors Open)
Librarian on-site: Mondays - Wednesdays, 8:00am - 4:00pm
When the library is not staffed, Penn Vet staff and students may check out their own books by completing one of the white cards on the check-out counter.


Weekdays 9 am until 5 pm: The Atwood library is in the restricted-access Hill Building. Visitors who do not have a Penn ID card that has been activated for the Hill Building can enter through the Ryan Hospital entrance at 3900 Spruce Street after presenting a current, valid photo ID. Alternatively, on-site access may be requested via the intercom at the University Avenue entrance by displaying a photo ID to the camera.

Access at New Bolton is restricted to New Bolton affiliates. Other individuals with particular need to use the New Bolton Library during weekday hours are welcome to make arrangements through Veterinary Library staff.

Evenings/Weekends: Access is restricted to Veterinary School students, faculty, and staff with Vet PennCards. The New Bolton Library can be accessed via card-swipe using your PennCard.

Study rooms must be reserved through the online reservation system and can only be used by Penn Vet students, faculty, and staff.
