This workshop will introduce participants to the best methods to find journal articles on CAM topics in several health databases: PubMed Plus, CINAHL/ Nursing, EMBASE, and AMED. In addition, it will demonstrate how to find the many resources available in the Penn Libraries and on the web. Participants will learn how to: limit PubMed and CINAHL databases searches to CAM-related citations; use EMBASE and AMED to find unique CAM-related article citations; use the Penn Libraries' Franklin Online Catalog and FindIt box to locate CAM-related books and journals held by the Penn Libraries; use the Penn Libraries' FindIt box to locate CAM-related resources from the National Institutes of Health, the World Health Organization, and the National Library of Medicine; find free journal articles on CAM topics not held in the Penn Libraries by using Google or another search engine; find additional materials on special CAM topics (Herbs for Pets, Herbs in Pregnancy, etc.) using Google or another search engine.
