How to Find Digital Images

Digital Images are available in the Online Image Catalog.
  • To browse the collection, please see the Browse by Creator list
  • To search the collection, please see the following examples:

Simple Search Example

  1. Select 'Simple Search'.

  2. Type in a word or phrase to describe the object you are seeking. Check 'display only records that have digital images'. Click 'search'.
    This is a keyword search. The results will retrieve all records with the word 'ocean'.

  3. View the results of your search. Click 'next' or 'jump to' to see additional results.

  4. Click record to view image and description.

Boolean Search Example

  1. Select 'Boolean Search'.

  2. Type in two words or phrases to describe the object you are seeking. Select 'and', 'or' or 'not' from the middle pull-down menu. Select field to search from the pull-down menus or leave as 'any field' default.

  3. Check 'display only records that have digital images'. Click 'search'.

  4. View the results of your search. Click 'next' or 'jump to' to see additional results.

  5. Click record to view image and description.
