Primary Source Collections and Guides: France

The standard primary source collections of French medieval documents are Collection de documents inedits sur l'histoire de France (supplemented by the Seriee in 8o) and the two Recueil des historiens... series. These collections should be supplemented by other general and topical series, such as the publications of the Societe de l'Histoire de France and Chartes et diplomes relatifs a l'histoire de France, respectively. The Typologie des sources du Moyen Age occidental guide series provides genre-specific information on primary resource materials for areas such as epigraphy, numismatics, prosopography, etc.
