Alphonse Brett worked as a lithographer in Philadelphia from around 1847 to 1859. In 1847 Brett was the principal lithographer for T. W. Gwilt Mapleson's Pearls of American Poetry. The book was published in New York but the plates were prepared in Philadelphia by Brett and Thomas S. Sinclair. Brett seems to have moved to New York in 1860 but his whereabouts following that are unknown.
