Restrictions: Permission to quote from and/or publish unpublished materials resides with the Mumford estate (executor, Robert Wojtowicz) and the Curator of Manuscripts, Annenberg Rare Book & Manuscript Library, University of Pennsylvania. The following materials are not available to researchers without written permission: the correspondence between Lewis and Sophia Mumford; Mumford's letters to and from Catherine Bauer, Alice Decker, and Josephine Strongin; and random notes, personalia, photographs, and art work which were associated with the restricted correspondence. An early version of The Transformations of Man may not be quoted, photocopied, or otherwise published.
