57. One of the commonest street vendors is the Paan wallah, or betel nut vendor.  One tenth of the world
chews the mixture of leaf, spices, nut and other variable ingridients.  Chief by-product of the habit is a
reddish splatter of stain, indiscriminately spat upon walls and sidewalks in Calcutta by carefree chewers.
