Artists' Books are limited edition books that are self-published, published by small presses, or by artist groups or collectives. Often, these books challenge the structure of a book or refer back to traditional book producing methods. The rise of the artists' book is a phenomenon of 20th Century book making.
The Kislak Center for Special Collections continues to grow its collection of artists' books. At the moment, we have a diverse collection that includes artists such as Johanna Drucker, Julie Chen, Werner Pfeiffer, and Edward Ruscha, amongst others.
