Computing in the Fine Arts Library

Public Computers

The Fine Arts Library offers 14 computers on the main floor, 3 computers in the stacks and 2 computers in the Fine Arts Image Collection. Many of these are connected to laser printers. Printing, using your PennCard or a Visitor's PennCash card, costs $0.08 per page on black and white printers and $0.50 per page using the color printer.

Self-Serve Scanning Workstations

The Fine Arts Library has 2 scanning stations (Mac and PC). The service is for students, staff and faculty of the University of Pennsylvania. All uses of the scanner are subject to U.S. copyright law and, as with photocopying, patrons are responsible for using the scanned materials in ways that comply with copyright law. Color output is available from work scanned on the PC station at $0.50/page.

Please note that the Mac station does not have a floppy drive.

Zip drives (maximum 250 Mb) are available on both stations.

Wireless Networking

The Fine Arts Library now offers access to Wireless Pennnet. The network is available in the main reading room, the periodicals area, and in the carrel areas in the stacks on the first, second, third and fourth floors. To use the wireless network, your laptop must have a wireless card. You must also have a PennKey. If you do not have a Pennkey, please see the Pennkey Website for PennKey registration instructions.
