Syllabus: You do not need to use the “Build Syllabus” tool to add a syllabus to Blackboard. You can also use “Create Item” and upload an existing document.

Assignments: You can also allow additional attempts later in the Grade Center by going to the assignment, clicking the double down arrows and selecting Grade Details < Allow Additional Attempt.

Digital Dropbox: The Digital Dropbox is no longer a part of Blackboard in 9.1. Use the Assignments tool to create an assignment "item" where students can upload and submit documents. Assignments also create a column in your Grade Center where you can go to view/download individual assignments, download them all at once, and enter grades/feedback.

Email: Blackboard does not have an inbox/outbox feature so there is no record of emails sent other than the brief confirmation message that appears in the green bar. You will receive a copy of any email that you send through Blackboard.

Manage Course Menu: You can also insert dividers and subheaders into the course buttons menu. To sort this menu click on a button, drag and drop it to another position. You can also reorder the menu all at once by clicking on the far right white icon in the course menu and the using the arrows.

Course Copy: Use this feature to copy content (documents, assignments, etc.) from one site to another.

Recycle: Recycling a course site empties it of content. This can be done for the whole site or granularly for an individual content area/button. This may be used when content has either copied over incorrectly or you want to purge an entire area of a site but not the architecture of the site itself. It can also be used when a site exists indefinitely and you would like to purge old enrollments before enrolling new users each term.
