Social Security

You social security number is used as an identity number for financial purposes such as payroll. It is important that you memorize it, keep your card in a safe place, and give out your number or present the card only when absolutely necessary.

International students who do not have a social security card, must apply for one before beginning to work. If you applied more than a month ago, and still have not received your card in the mail, you should go back to the social security office to check on the status of your application. If you have any questions or problems, contact the Student Coordinator. Once you receive your card, bring it to Room 239 so that we can copy it and put the number in your payroll record.
