Wharton Esherick: A Portfolio of Prints is a collaboration of the Common Press, the Wharton Esherick Museum, and the University of Pennsylvania Libraries. This portfolio of re-strikes of original woodcuts and engraved blocks made by Wharton Esherick in the 1920s and 1930s was produced in conjunction with the exhibition and symposium Wharton Esherick and the Birth of the American Modern. The edition is limited to 110 copies, of which 100 are for sale. The printing of the portfolio was made possible through the generous support of the Esherick family and Robyn and John Horn.
The set consists of the following twelve re-strikes of blocks belonging to the Wharton Esherick Museum, all printed on Okawara paper:

The title page, checklist by Paul Eisenhauer of the Wharton Esherick Museum, and colophon were designed by David Comberg and printed in two colors on Saunders paper. The typeface used for titling in the portfolio is called Everyman and was designed by Robin McDowell in 2008 as part of her senior thesis project in the Department of Fine Arts in the School of Design as the University of Pennsylvania. The re-strikes and text pages were printed by Matt Neff and Sofie Hodara at the Common Press, the letterpress studio at the University of Pennsylvania. Tricia Treacy of the Pointed Press designed and produced the portfolio boxes and paper enclosures. The boxes are made of black and rust colored silk Ashai bookcloth, matching the colors of the title page, and have an Esherick at Press woodcut inset on the front. The enclosures are constructed of handmade custom-colored paper, produced at the Saint Armand Papermill in Montreal.
Sets of the portfolio are available for purchase, at $2000 in the custom made box and $1750 in the paper enclosure plus shipping and handling ($30) and sales tax for Pennsylvania residents ($120 for the box, $105 for the enclosure).
