In December of 1944 Price wrote to Marian Anderson regarding two new spiritual arrangements: "I am Bound for the Kingdom" and "I'm Workin' on My Buildin'." Specifically, she solicited the singer's opinion on the ending of "I'm Workin' on My Buildin'," which she hoped would receive future performances. The work was published in 1949, with Price's original ending intact.
