CULTURAL READINGS: Colonization & Print in the Americas

Encisco
Jay I. Kislak Foundation

First published in 1519, Encisco's world geography manual is unusual because of the attention it gives to Spanish discoveries in the New World. It is surely one of the earliest, if not the earliest, such work in Spain to incorporate the New World into a description of the "world" as a whole.
