Recorded 24 and 25 September 1929 and 12 March 1930

This double bill was sponsored by the League of Composers, a New York-based organization that promoted the composition and performance of contemporary music. Performed in Philadelphia and New York--in the Metropolitan Opera Houses of both cities--the event was well-covered by the press and earned Stokowski an appearance on the cover of Time magazine.
