Work & Study Spaces in the Engineering Library

The Engineering Library is located at 217 Towne Building. Tables, carrels, and lounge seating are all available. A portion of library seating has been designated for quiet individual study, but the remainder of the space accomodates group study and/or individual study. The Group Study Room at the east end of the library has two white boards.

The SEAS Tutoring Center uses the Group Study Room at the east end of the Engineering Library. Several tables are reserved for evening tutoring sessions (usually Mondays - Thursdays, 7:00-10:00pm).

Computing facilities include 8 Dell workstations equipped with CD-RW drives. Access to the library's web site, online catalog, electronic resources, Internet, e-mail, MS Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Photoshop, RefWorks, DrJava, Maple, MDL ISIS Draw, and NCBI-Cn3D is provided. 8 laptops are available on loan from the Circulation Desk, for use within the Engineering Library for a 4 hour loan period. If you have a PennKey, you can use the laptops on the SEAS Wireless Network. If you do not have a Pennkey, please see the Pennkey Website for PennKey registration instructions. The laptops may also be used with an Ethernet cable and one of the Library's Ethernet Plug-In Ports.

Wireless connectivity for laptops is available throughout the entire library (and Towne Building); in addition we have several data and power ports available. Ethernet lines and earphones may be borrowed from the circulation desk.

Two televisions equipped with VCRs are available for videos on reserve at the circulation desk.
