    About
    The Penn Libraries Toolbar is a custom-made web browser extension for University of Pennsylvania students, faculty, and staff.
    It provides a persistent search box that allows you to search:
    • The Penn website using Google
    • Penn Libraries web pagesm databases, e-journals, FAQs and more using FindIt!
    • Franklin Library catalog by Title, Keywords, Author and Journal Title
    • VCat, the video catalog for videos and DVD Collections in the Penn Libraries
    • Databases such as EBSCO Megafile, JSTOR, ABI/Inform, PubMed, ScienceDirect and WorldCat
    • Google and Google Scholar
    It also provides links to frequently used Penn and Penn Libraries websites, Webmail, Ask a Librarian, Blackboard and the Penn Library social bookmarking tool, PennTags.
    Latest Version
    You can find the installer for the latest build of all versions of the Penn Toolbar here.

    • After the initial installation, the Firefox version of the toolbar should notify you of any updates and install them automatically.
    • The Internet Explorer version requires manual updates.

    IE version:

    1. Search type must be selected each time the search box is used.

    System Requirements
    • Web Browser:
    • Get Firefox! Mozilla Firefox 1.5 - 2x (Not tested with Firefox 3)
      Get Internet Explorer Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
    Uninstall the Toolbar
    To uninstall the Firefox Toolbar:
    1. Open Firefox.
    2. Select Tools > Add-ons and click Extensions
    3. Select Penn Toolbar and click the Uninstall button.

    To uninstall the Internet Explorer toolbar:
    1. Close Internet Explorer
    2. Open the Windows Control Panel (usually: Start Menu > Control Panel)
    3. Choose Add or Remove Programs
    4. Scroll down to Penn Toolbar and click on it.
    5. Click on Change/Remove
    6. When asked "All running IE Windows will be closed before toolbar's Uninstall. Continue?" Click Yes.
