| Interested in listening to music while you study -
or perhaps as a break from study? |

The Eugene Ormandy Music and Media Center on the fourth floor of the Van Pelt Library houses a collection of over 20,000 CDs that you can either listen to on CD players in the library or borrow for one week. Practically any piece of classical music is available on CD, and the library's considerable collection of jazz and popular music is growing. The CDs are listed in Franklin, and library staff can help you find what you need.

If your computer has a network connection - ethernet or wireless - you can also listen to music provided by the Penn Library through four streaming audio services: classical music through the Classical Music Library and the Naxos Music Library, jazz through the Naxos Music Library Jazz, and world and folk music through Smithsonian Global Sound. These services provide tens of thousands of tracks for listening at near-CD quality.

And while you're on the fourth floor, feel free to browse the library's collection of sheet music and books on music. They're all listed in Franklin, and a member of the Music Library staff will be happy to help you with your search. |
