AnthropologyPLUS moves to EBSCOhost

AnthropologyPLUS is now available on the EBSCOhost platform.

AnthropologyPLUS combines two leading bibliographic databases - Anthropological Literature, produced by Harvard University's Tozzer Library, and Anthropological Index, produced by the Royal Anthropological Institute of the UK. Together, the two databases offer worldwide indexing of all core anthropological periodicals in addition to many lesser known journals, monographs and reports, and edited works, from the early 19th century to today.

AnthropologyPLUS's broad geographical coverage emphasizes the Commonwealth countries and Africa and extends to Eastern Europe, the Americas, Asia, Australasia, and the Pacific. Its subject coverage is similarly broad, covering social, cultural, physical, biological, and lingustic anthropology, ethnology, archaeology, folklore, material culture, and interdisciplinary studies.

By moving to the familiar EBSCOhost platform, the Penn Libraries are able to offer access to an unlimited number of simultaneous users; the old FirstSearch platform permitted only five users. The EBSCOhost platform presents a friendly page design and provides easy access to AnthropologyPLUS's author and subject indexes. EBSCOhost links to fulltext and Franklin through PennText to take advantage of the University Museum Library's outstanding anthropology and archaeology collections.
