The Penn Libray's Franklin Catalog has a new look that incorporates a color scheme and several design elements that are more in tune with the library's current website, a number of changes that improve usability, and additional functionality that should enhance research.

Among the noteworthy additions are the Bookbag and Saved Searches features. Bookbag permits saving of bibliographic records from a search result (akin to a shopping cart) for later viewing, editing, or printing, and Saved Searches makes it possible to save up to 25 different search strategies that can be run on command. Both of these functions require login through the my account page in Franklin.

The library has also added a new record display option to Franklin, in addition to the current brief and detailed views. The more lIke this view provides direct links to the headings that are a part of a bibliographic record and will facilitate navigation of the catalog.
