Use of the University of Pennsylvania Dental School Library Fall 2004

All University of Pennsylvania students, faculty, and staff are welcome to use the Dental Library during regular business hours (from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Mondays through Fridays).

Due to a 20% increase in the size of the entering class of Dental students this year, combined with a limited number of seats and computers, a decision has been made by the Dental School and the Dental Library that use of the Dental Library will be restricted to Dental School students, faculty, and staff during evening hours (from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM), and on weekends.

Exceptions will be made for any Penn person who needs access to the dental literature after 5:00 PM or on weekends. Please contact the Dental School Librarian, at 215-898-8978 to make special arrangements.

Alternative study sites for Penn students have been identified, and the list follows.

Alternative study spaces and computer labs between 38th and 40th Streets: (Schedules to be determined; usually open until 11:00 PM).

• Hamilton College House: Computer Lab; large study space on the Mezzanine; and Rooftop Lounge when not in use for programs.
• Harnwell College House: Computer Lab; and Rooftop Lounge when not in use for programs.
• Harrison College House: Computer Lab; large study space on the Mezzanine; and Rooftop Lounge when not in use for programs.
• Mayer Hall: Small computer lab; and smaller study space.
• W.E.B. DuBois College House: Small computer lab; and smaller study space.
• Gregory College House: Small computer lab.
• Steinhardt Hall: Small study space. Open until 11:00 PM, except on Friday and Saturday.
