(04-OCT-06)
New Features of VCat include:
- the ability to browse films by genre, actor, director, production company, country, and language.
- an Advanced Search option, which makes it possible to customize a search. Limit by spoken language, language of subtitles, country of production, genre, collection name, release date, and format.
- from the Advanced Search page, access to a list of videos acquired by the Library over the past month, or previous 3 or 6 months.
- the ability to place a hold on a video that is checked out.
VCat includes entries for all of the library's videos, which are also listed in the Franklin catalog. Totaling over 12,000 films on DVD and VHS, the collections include feature and foreign language films, opera and musicals, and documentaries in a multitude of disciplines. Search VCat for specific titles, actors, directors, production companies, or use keywords to combine terms.
Most videos in the library's collection circulate for 7 days. For details on access and borrowing, see the How to link on the VCat search page.
To access the catalog, just type VCat in the search box on the library's web page.
