China Development Brief, an independent nonprofit newsletter service covering social development and civil society issues in China, is now available through the Penn Library Web.

Aimed at international readers attempting to contribute to Chinas sustainable development and global integration - multilateral financial institutions, foreign government donor agencies, grant-making foundations, international NGOs - China Development Brief offers informed and accurate reporting and balanced, objective analysis on development challenges within China, including civil society issues, corporate social responsibility, disaster prevention and relief, education, environment, ethnic minorities, gender, governance and social policy, health, labor, law and rights, livelihoods, media, migration, and social welfare.

The China Development Brief web site provides fulltext for its monthly newsletter back through its origin in 1996. The web site also presents DINGO, a directory of more than 200 international NGOs operating in China.
