The Penn Library now provides Penn readers with searchable fulltext desktop access to the Philadelphia Inquirer!
Through the new Penn Library e-news collection, NewsBank National Newspaper Package, readers may search for national, regional, and local news in the Philadelphia Inquirer, 1982-yesterday.
The NewsBank National Newspaper Package provides searchable fulltext for more than 300 newspapers nationwide, with the total coverage expanding to 440 titles over the next few months. Major papers unique to NewsBank, or with expanded coverage, include:
- Boston Globe (1980-current issues)
- Detroit Free Press (1982-current issues)
- Houston Chronicle (1985-current issues)
- Los Angeles Times (1985-current issues)
- Miami Herald (1983-current issues)
- Philadelphia Daily News (1978-current issues)
- Sacramento Bee (1984-current issues)
The NewsBank interfaces allows searching in all available fulltext as well as specific fields characteristic of the newspaper format: lead paragraph, headline, author, section, edition, caption, and page. Readers may search all newspapers, individual newspapers or combinations of titles, and newspapers by state.
