Pedagogues can tell you that learning is a social activity, best conducted in a comfortable, familiar environment, with plenty of peers and mentors to help you along. Some 2,176 members of the Class of 2011 got a jump on learning about all the Penn Libraries have to offer during this year's Library Social. They hit the high points on a scavenger hunt throughout Van Pelt, challenged each other's moves on the dance floor near Current Periodicals, and found some of the library's cozy places to settle in and get to know their fellow Freshmen. T-shirt give-aways and raffle drawings for iPods, a digital camera, and lots of gift certificates added to the fun. Check out the video to see for yourself!
