The Penn Libraries will be hosting a webcast as part of Sunshine Week 2008:
"Government Secrecy: Censoring Your Right to Know"

"Government Secrecy: Censoring Your Right to Know" will include a panel of experts from around the country who will discuss open government and secrecy, the problems it poses, how it impacts communities, and what the public can do about it.

Sunshine Week will be observed this year March 16-22. Launched initially in 2005, Sunshine Week is intended to raise awareness of the importance of open government to everyone in the community. Sponsors include the American Library Association, Association of Research Libraries, Special Libraries Association, American Association of Law Libraries, League of Women Voters, National Coalition Against Censorship, National Press Club, Project on Government Oversight (POGO), Sunlight Foundation, National Freedom of Information Coalition, and OpenTheGovernment.org.
