The Penn Library Web has added three valuable resources to its collection of World Bank electronic resources:
These e-resources are available to Penn faculty, students, and staff both on campus and off campus through the Penn Library Web's proxy server.World Bank E-Library presents fulltext PDF-format versions of all new World Bank books and selected books beginning in 1984. More than 1,200 titles cover all areas of World Bank interests. This collection complements World Development Sources, the fulltext grey literature collection of World Bank documents and reports.
World Development Indicators online and Global Development Finance online are World Bank's principal time series data collections on the global economy and global development. The World Bank data interface permits data retrieval for multiple countries (including by IGO memberships, region, or economic condition), data items, and years. Data may be presented at different scales as raw data, percent-change, or indexed to a year. Data may be output as charts or in Microsoft Excel or ASCII tab-delimited text formats.
WDI Online provides more than 550 times series, 1960-present, covering demographic, social, economic, financial, natural resources and environmental topics for more than 200 countries and 18 country groups. GDF Online provides time series data, 1970-present with forecasting data up to seven years in the future, on world debt for the 138 countries reporting public and publicly-guaranteed debt to the World Bank Debtor Reporting System.
