The Penn Libraries have acquired ScienceDirect e-book versions of two popular and authoritative reference handbook series produced by North-Holland, part of the Elsevier publishing group. These two handbook series - Handbooks in Economics and Handbook of Statistics - offer individual volumes or multivolume works that are self-contained reference works describing the state of a specific topic. They are intended to provide comprehensive and accessible surveys beyond a review article or encyclopedia entry. ScienceDirect provides browsing access and searchable fulltext to all volumes and titles in these two series, past and out-of-print, current, and forthcoming (as volumes are published).


Handbooks in Economics, currently offers 76 volumes within 28 thematic titles. Penn Economics and Wharton faculty have made significant contributors to this series, with two titles edited by Penn faculty and 31 articles contributed by 26 current and former Penn faculty members.
