Bloomberg Certification Program: Spring Semester 2004

Registration for the Spring 2004 Bloomberg Certification program is now closed. However, demand was so great that we are trying to set up another Certification Program before the end of the semester. Please stay tuned for further information.

The Lippincott Library of the Wharton School and Bloomberg are please to announce an additional Bloomberg Certification Program for the Spring 2004 Semester.

By completing this program participants will become certified in Equity Level 1 and Fixed Income Level 1.

Please note: This program is free to all University of Pennsylvania students.

Enter CERT <GO> at any Bloomberg terminal to learn more about the certification program and to view the complete curriculum. There are two Bloomberg terminals each in Huntsman Hall and Lippincott Library.

Lippincott Library will continue its Bloomberg 101 class held every Wednesday at 3:30pm in the Glossberg Room in Lippincott Library. For more information please call 215-898-5924 or contact lippinco@wharton.upenn.edu

Schedule

Classes will be held on February 27, March 5 and March 12. All classes are held from 9 am to 12 noon in the Class of 55 Conference Room located on the 2nd floor of the Van Pelt Library.

Registration is now closed

To participate in the program, you will need to complete the following steps.

1. E-mail lippinco@wharton.upenn.edu to register with the Library. Provide your name, email, school, and student status (undergraduate, MBA, etc). Sign up must be completed by Friday, February 13, 2004.

2. Create your own login using a Bloomberg terminal in Huntsmen or Lippincott. Login to Bloomberg and type UREG [GO]. Follow the instructions. A unique login is required to participate in the program. Please note that the login must be used at least once in thirty days; otherwise it will be deleted from the system. Make sure to use the Lippincott Library address when signing up for the courses: 3420 Walnut Street, Philiadelphia, PA. 10104.

3. Go to BU [GO] and select Philadelphia, then sign up for the appropriate sessions.

4. Stay near the terminal after you have registered. A Bloomberg representative will call to confirm your registration. You will need to provide some information from the Bloomberg screen to confirm your registration. Use your cell phone number or, if you are in Lippincott, you can give the number of the Lippincott Library Reference Desk (215-898-5924). Make sure to tell the librarian that you have given the library's phone number.

You will need to complete each session in order to complete the program. Upon Completion, you will certified in Equity Level 1 and Fixed Income Level 1. You may register for the only the Equity Level 1 Certification or both!!!

Fixed Income Level 1

If you are already certified in Equity Level 1, you may sign up for the Fixed Income session only. You do not need to re-register with Bloomberg. But you do need to go to CERT [GO] to sign up for this course and then to email lippinco@wharton.upenn.edu to let the library know you have signed up.
