Collection Shifts in Van Pelt-Dietrich Library

Collection shifts continue in support of the construction of the library's exciting new Special Collections Center. Library of Congress classifications Q-V have been moved from the 5th floor east into the 4th floor compact shelving. Books classed in C-G have been shifted westward into the vacated stacks on the 5th floor.

These shifts align with the Libraries' goal to ease congestion and rationalize the arrangement of collections in the open stacks and are integral to construction of the Special Collections Center and to strategic planning for the building for the coming decade. Together, these efforts will help the Libraries to reshape collections and services for new methods of research and teaching, and preserve knowledge for future generations.
