FindIt: - African grey literature online
(09-FEB-04) is a grey-literature collection focusing on health, social welfare, and development issues in Africa. The collection provides searchable fulltext (PDF-format) documents produced by African and Africa-based research organizations, NGOs, educational institutions, and government agencies. covers a wide range of topics, including agriculture, AIDS support services, arid lands research, children and family and social services, environmental conservation and forest and water resources, finance and economic development including the informal sector, journalism, human rights and social justice, peace and conflict resolution, politics and elections, population issues and family planning, urban development, and women's issues. presents material from a variety of publication formats: manuals, government reports, research reports, project reports, periodical articles, proceedings, publicity materials and speeches, theses and dissertations. includes a large collection of photos and is working to include several thousand hours of video streaming as well as audio clips in the future.

Although gives access to materials from 26 African countries, its collecting focus at present is concentrated in Eastern Africa, especially Kenya, its base of operations. has 45 publishing partners in finance and business (e.g., Bank of Uganda, Central Bank of Kenya, Nairobi Stock Exchange Ltd), economic development (NEPAD, Institute of Economic Affairs, Kenya), health and population studies (National AIDS Control Council-Kenya, Population Council, Family Planning Association of Uganda), environmental conservation (Arid Lands Information Network-Eastern Africa, World Conservation Union East Africa Office), and relief, human rights, and social services (Pamoja Trust, Kenya Human Rights Commission, Central Depository Unit).
