Micromedex: comprehensive drug information

Micromedex Health Care Series, is a comprehensive, full text drug information database, useful for drug identification, dosing, side effects, and interactions. It includes drug reviews, guidelines, toxicology information, emergency treatment protocols, and information on alternative and herbal medicines. MobileMicromedex is the free PDA version. Some selected segments of the database include :
- DRUGDEX: Peer-reviewed, evidence-based drug information including investigational and nonprescription drugs.
- USP DI: Expert-reviewed drug monographs including patient counseling guidelines.
- PDR: FDA-approved data for prescription, nonprescription, and ophthalmic pharmaceuticals.
- MSDS from USP: Material safety data sheets covering health hazards and handling procedures
- POISINDEX: Ingredient information for commercial, pharmaceutical, and biological substances with treatment protocols.
- DISEASEDEX Emergency Medicine: Evidence-based acute care information..
- Alternative Medicine: Evidence-based monographs on herbals, dietary supplements, etc. and information on alternative therapies of common health conditions.
- TOMES: Medical and hazard chemical information: workplace safety, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
