The American Honda Motor Company Fund supports the purchase of Japanese books and materials for the University of Pennsylvania Library. Mr. Willie Tokishi, Vice President, Corporate Community Relations, presented the initial gift to the Library on September 27, 1991, in the East Asian Seminar Room in the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center.

The University of Pennsylvania and the Library continue to benefit from the generosity of the American Honda Motor Company. With careful stewardship, the endowment has nearly doubled, helping the Library to meet the increasing interest in the study of Japanese culture. The Fund significantly supports the East Asian Studies curriculum, on both undergraduate and graduate levels.
