Beverly Bennett Rutstein, College for Women 1950, established an endowed fund for the purchases of books or scholarly materials in the humanities.

She said, "Great university libraries should be comprehensive repositories for the knowledge that is most important, most worthy of preserving of our own and other cultures. I see it as the heart of the institution."
