David B. Weigle, W '69

The Campaign for the Penn Libraries
David B. Weigle, Wharton 1969, is a member of the University of Pennsylvania Libraries Board of Overseers and one of the Library's champions.

He has provided support for a number of Penn Library projects:
*Weigle Jewish and Ancient Near East Studies Suite which includes
- the Weigle Teaching Seminar Room,
- the Weigle Medieval Studies Resource Room and
- Study Suites
* Class of 1969 Periodicals Center Desk
dedicated to his father, Julian Weigle, Wharton 1942
While a Wharton undergraduate, he was chair of the Connaissance Lecture Series and a member of Theta Rho fraternity and Sphinx Senior Society. Mr. Weigle earned his varsity letter as manager of the Championship Heavyweight Crew which competed in the Olympic Trials and the Royal Henley Regatta. Upon graduation, he served on active duty as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy Supply Corps, following which he received advanced degrees from the University of Iowa and Northwestern University. Originally from Bettendorf, Iowa, Mr. Weigle remains active in his family's business there.
