The Campaign for the Penn Libraries
Reunion at Alumni Weekend The University of Pennsylvania Libraries continue to be renewed and rejuvenated through the ongoing generosity of the school's alumni and parents. Most recently, the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center renovation is being accomplished due to the contributions of classes that have had the foresight to recognize that the library is evolving into the intellectual commons of the 21st century. These forward-looking classes have drawn on their love of the spirit of Penn and dedication to its excellence into the future to provide the means for generations of Penn classes to reap the benefits of a library system well maintained and technologically optimal.

Because the volume of new information is increasing rapidly -- doubling every decade, according to some estimates -- new areas of research are emerging and course curricula are evolving. These classes have committed themselves to helping the Library keep pace with the changing demands of modern scholarship.

The Penn Libraries system extends its appreciation for the effort of the officers of each class to organize the fund drives that have made this work possible. It also expresses sincere gratitude to each donor who rose to the occasion.
