In the early 1970s, Penn was among a handful of universities to make a serious investment in computerized, networked cataloging. This early innovation paved the way for untold improvements in research and scholarship. Now, the need for innovation is more critical than ever before. The Penn Libraries are partnering with other universities to build the computerized information systems of the future. They are pursuing the digital re-creation of the print library and devising interactive systems that improve scholars' ability to organize and manage information. Our goal is to continue to brand the future for Penn and enrich our support for teaching and learning through innovation.
The Libraries of tomorrow will be laboratories for learning, rich in information access, talented staff and the capacity for
innovation. Explore these options for giving to the Penn Libraries and help us chart a path to the future.
