Library collections grow in only two wayspurchases and gifts. The Penn Library started with a gift of two volumes in 1750 from Trustee Lewis Evans. Since that time, the Library has received tremendous support from bibliophiles, collectors and other benefactors who wish to place their collections with us.
If you have an interest in donating your library or individual items to Penn, please do not hesitate to contact us. It is important to note that the Penn Library is a research library with nearly 5 million volumes, and while we are happy to evaluate catalogues of titles and individual items, we are only able to accept materials that complement our current collections and that are consistent with Penn's research priorities.
