Goldstein Director of Information Processing

The Patricia and Bernard Goldstein Information Processing Center currently employs over 50 people and scores of high-end computers to acquire, process, and catalog all of the material that replenishes the Libraries' store of knowledge: journals, books, magazines, newspapers, microform, and CD-ROM electronic reference tools.

In May 1997, thanks to a gift from Patricia and Bernard Goldstein, the Center moved to an entirely redesigned space on the first floor of the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center. This re-designed and enhanced facility serves as the chief gateway for materials that replenish and expand the informational resources for the scholarly community at Penn.

The Patricia and Bernard Goldstein Directorship was established as a permanent named position in 1997, in recognition of the generosity of the Goldstein Family.
