Access Electronic Reserve Materials in Franklin
Electronic materials are cataloged with very brief records and listed along with traditional reserve materials in the Course Reserve section of Franklin. Users may search by instructor name or course (department and course number) to locate items on reserve. Electronic materials are identified in the title index by the phrase [print & electronic] or simply [electronic] following the title statement. Course reserve materials cannot be identified through the author/title/subject/keyword searches in Franklin, which helps to limit access to all reserve materials, including personal copies of books on reserve, and hard copies of articles and other papers.
Access to electronic documents is limited to individuals currently registered on the library's circulation patron file. Faculty, staff and students of the University of Pennsylvania with current, valid Penn ID's who access the library's system through a proxy server will be prompted to enter their ID (patron barcode) and last name in order to view electronic articles.
