These tools will enable you to copy, delete, sort and manage posts and tags in your PennTags environment. To have access to the full range of available tools you will need to login to PennTags. To do so, type your valid Pennkey and password into the login boxes in the upper right-hand of the entry screen.

Edit, Delete and Add to Project Tools
Once you are logged into PennTags you will see a series of icons next to each of the posts you have created. Note these icons will only appear next to posts you own, if the post is not yours these functions will not be available to you.

    Once you've added a post to PennTags, you may want to change the tags you assigned or update the description you wrote. If you've just added the post, it will likely be near the top of the list of recently added posts on the main PennTags page. Otherwise, you'll want to go to your tag space on PennTags (i.e., http://tags.library.upenn.edu/yourPennKey). Click on the Edit icon for the post you want to change. The posting box will open. Make your changes. Submit by clicking the Submit button at the bottom of the screen. To view the changes you made, refresh the screen (your PennTags tag space or the general PennTags page). The edited post will move to the top of the list.

  • Delete (picture of icon)

    If you wish to permanently delete one of your posts from PennTags click on the delete icon. This will delete the post from all of PennTags, including any project where it may exist. You will need to go through the posting process to re-add this item if you choose to do so at a later date.

  • Add to Project (picture of icon)

    Before you can add posts to a project, you need to have created the project you want to add to (see project section).Click on the "Add to Project" icon (picture) to the right of each post. A list of your projects will appear, click on the title of the project to which you would like add the post.

Copy Tool
The copy icon (picture of icon) enables you to copy another post in PennTags and add it to your tagspace. The copy icon will appear next to all posts in PennTags when you are logged in regardless of whether you own the post. Clicking on the icon will open up the posting page, the existing tags and description are imported automatically, but feel free to change them to make them more meaningful for you. Click on "Submit" at the bottom of the posting box to add the post to your tagspace, you are now the owner of the post.
Sorting Posts

By default your posts are ordered in chronological order of addition, the most recently added is at the top of the list. If you want to reorder your posts alphabetically by title, then click on the sort alphabetically button at the top of the list of posts.
The Toolbox

On the lefthand side of the screen is the toolbox with more functions for working with your posts and tags. (image of toolbox??) Below are descriptions of the toolbox features:
