It is crucial that Penn Libraries staff have the deep expertise necessary to support Penn’s world-renowned faculty and brilliant students. Investing in innovative, talented staff through endowed positions attracts the best minds to the Libraries and fuels the academic output of Penn as a whole.

Foster Growth and Development

The Penn Libraries is committed to advancing the careers of bright and talented librarians and to demonstrating the value of its senior leaders through the creation of named, endowed positions. Endowments for our expert staff enable us to attract top candidates and retain incredible talent. An endowed position signals to the holder that the Penn Libraries is invested in their career and supports them by providing stability and resources that advance their work.

Create a Legacy of Impact

Endowed positions add prominence to the programs and projects the staff member undertakes. Donors are invited to name positions focused on their personal areas of interest to further the Libraries’ studies and research in that subject. The beneficiary of your named fund will carry their title with pride. A portion of the investment income from your fund will support the recipient’s salary, travel, and professional development, with the remainder reinvested over time.
