On 5/23, the Web Unit demo'd interconnections on our Drupal site. Events-and-exhibits is our latest poster child: By filling out a single form, you get...
- A tabbed exhibit-events page
- A block on the exhibits-events index page
- A featured block on "10 days of events" (90 days now it's summer)
- Blocks on the Libraries homepage: Events (near-top right) or Exhibits (about halfway down) - or one of each!
- Eventually: a block on any departmental homepage (right now: just Music)
- If your event is a lecture, a block on the lectures index page
- If your lecture is part of a series, a line on the series page
Our amazing Head of Exhibits & Publications and her team. Andrea, Lynda, and Emily are using the new functionality not just to publicize great new exhibits but to create a record of their award-winning history of exhibits.
We didn't just talk about blocks and pages. Iva provided a deeper dive into developing for Drupal 8. She'll be posting about that next.
