book cart in Penn Dental Medicine's P-Care Suite

Collection Overview

With the opening of Penn Dental Medicines' Personalized Care Suite for Persons with Disabilities (PCARE), Penn Dental Medicine raised the bar in the rapidly growing field of clinical education and treatment of PWD. Emphasis is placed on behavior management, and patients and students are acclimated to the treatment space and each other. This education is gradual as students regularly rotate through the P-care suite.

And the books included on the cart help support the lessons taught chairside. Seeing book titles is a visual cue to investigate a topic one might not have explored before.

The physical books ground practitioners to the place and remind one to take time to consider all aspects of patient care by the ability to discover topics they never encountered before just as every patient teaches a new lesson.
