Duo Sapientia presents Violin Duos on Gut: Music of Josquin, Morley, Gibbons, and Bartok.

In this eclectic program, violinists Dongmyung Ahn and Mandy Wolman seek to explore the resonances that emerge from duo violin music from two periods. While the four composers featured, Josquin de Pres, Thomas Morley, Orlando Gibbons, and Bela Bartok, share contrapuntal textures as well as fragmentary, conversational gestures, they diverge in their use of modal music and traditional harmony.
