Join the Barbara Bates Center for the Study of the History of Nursing, Penn Libraries, and The Woodlands for our third annual cemetery tour & reception in honor of Nurses’ Week! Located less than a mile from the Bates Center and Fagin Hall, The Woodlands Cemetery is the final resting place for some of Philadelphia’s most influential nurses. Join us for a walking tour through The Woodland’s hauntingly beautiful grounds to learn about the lives of some of Philadelphia’s most prominent figures in the history of nursing and public health. Afterwards, participants are invited to a small reception.
Registration is required, spots are limited. Please note, this event is a walking tour that will traverse paved and unpaved terrain, and will take place rain or shine. Please contact the Barbara Bates Center at nhistory@nursing.upenn.edu regarding any accommodations that you may need.
