Katherine provides ongoing design, implementation, and evaluation of Commons instructional offerings and student assistance services focusing on undergraduates. She also oversees the Hoesley Digital Literacy Fellows program, and serves as a liaison to partners around campus that are integral to the library's core student services.
Before coming to Penn, Katherine served as the Undergraduate Success Librarian at the University of South Florida. At USF, Katherine held a faculty position and participated in campus engagement efforts as a Faculty Fellow. She also has much experience in leading and assessing library instruction, previously serving as the liaison to the Department of Women and Gender Studies and the Honors College. On the national level Katherine is an ACRL Immersion graduate, incoming chair for the ACRL-WGSS (Women & Gender Studies Section) Membership Committee, and serves on the Education Advisory Board of the Internet Shakespeare Editions at the University of Victoria.
Katherine holds a Master of Library Science from Indiana University's School of Informatics and Computing, a Graduate Certificate in Dramatic Literature from the University of California Santa Cruz, and a Dual Baccalaureate in European History and Theater Arts from UC Santa Cruz.
