
Sharon Black
In her role as Communication Librarian, Sharon provides reference and research support for the field of Communication to students, faculty, and the wider community. She offers one-on-one and group research instruction, and works to make the Annenberg Library a welcoming space for individual and collaborative learning.
Sharon holds a BA in English from Gettysburg College, and an MS in Library and Information Science from Drexel University. She is the author of several publications related to communication librarianship, including a thesaurus of subject headings for indexing television scripts, and an article on the depiction of libraries and librarians on television ("Checking Out the Librarian" in Popular Culture in Libraries). In her spare time she teaches decision skills to prisoners at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility and is a published poet currently working on a play.
