Tom manages circulation, resource sharing, and stacks for the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center. Tom also coordinates Access Services policies and procedures across the Penn Libraries' system and with our affiliate libraries (Annenberg, Law, Morris Arboretum, Demography Library, Archives, and Athenaeum of Philadelphia). He is currently taking the lead on our resumption of services for the fall semester, including our new and enhanced services: FacultyExpress, Books by Mail, PickUp@Penn and Scan and Deliver. In addition, Tom coordinates the transfer of collections to off-site storage and our BorrowDirect and E-ZBorrow respective partnerships with Ivy Plus and PALCI.

Tom came to Penn from the Case Memorial Library in Orange, Connecticut. Before moving into public libraries, he served in senior roles at Yale, Harvard, MIT and NYU, leading access services and resource sharing efforts. Tom has served as chair of ALA RUSA-STARS and as a Member-At-Large of the Rethinking Resource Sharing Committee. He has also written and presented on a variety of topics such as international interlibrary loan, best practices in resource sharing and reserves, wearable technology in libraries, games and library gaming programs, and MakerSpaces. 

Tom has a BA in Ancient Greek and Latin from Boston University and an MLIS from Simmons.
